WOSM

The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is an independent, worldwide, non-profit and non-partisan organization which serves the Scout Movement. Its purpose is to promote unity and the understanding of Scouting's purpose and principles, while facilitating its expansion and development. The organs of the World Organization are the World Scout Conference, the World Scout Committee and the World Scout Bureau.

WOSM is a long-standing partner of KAICIID on the empowerment of young people through the Dialogue for Peace programme.

In 2013, the organizations concluded a Memorandum of Understanding to promote dialogue within the Scout movement. Through the Dialogue for Peace programme, KAICIID and WOSM have increased the number of dialogue facilitators and trainers within the Scouting movement, helping Scouts acquire the skills to promote a culture of peace and create positive change in their communities.

KAICIID has also contributed to the development of Guidelines for the Spiritual Development in Scouting and will continue to provide expertise in the development phase of WOSM’s Interreligious Dialogue programme.
