Senior Mediator, Communities in Transition

Nathalie Al-Zyoud is the Senior Mediator of Communities in Transition (CIT) where she currently works as CIT's senior mediator. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of conflict management, both domestically and internationally, and mediates conflicts ranging from workplace, family and community disputes to inter-ethnic, interreligious and agro-pastoral conflicts.

During her career, she led a high-level track-II diplomatic engagement in Chad where she helped negotiate foreign policy changes with UN, USG and EU representatives. She built an interreligious peacebuilding platform in Burkina Faso to Counter Violent Extremism, facilitated dialogues between Christian farmers and Muslim herders, traditional leaders and armed groups and coached insider mediators in the Central African Republic to mediate conflicts around economic, land, displacement and security issues. Nathalie facilitates restorative justice circles, re-entry circles and conducts interest-based negotiations.

She graduated with a Master of International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and is a part-time faculty at George Washington University (GW).

Nathalie Al-Zyoud is fluent in English and in French.
