UN Environmental Programme (UNEP)

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority which sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system, and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

In 2017, UNEP launched the Faith for Earth initiative, which encourages, empowers and engages with faith-based organizations as partners, at all levels, toward the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Agenda 2030.

KAICIID and UNEP have partnered on a number of initiatives ranging from webinars to e-learning courses, designed to increase the knowledge and capacity of religious actors on the UN’s environmental goals.
