Dr. Nicola Brady is the General Secretary of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI). Prior to this she was General Secretary of the Irish Council of Churches where her work had a particular focus on peace and reconciliation, on the island of Ireland and internationally. She is an Eisenhower Fellow, a Director of Christian Aid Ireland and of the Maximilian Kolbe Foundation, which works to extend the lessons of German-Polish reconciliation post-World War II to other conflict areas. From 2021-2023 she served as Chair of the Steering Committee of the Synodal Pathway for the Catholic Church in Ireland. Her doctoral research focussed on the response of the Catholic Hierarchy to political violence in Northern Ireland and in the Basque Country.
