Akuya Terwase

Venerable Terwase Akuya is trained by the Kukah Centre Abuja in collaboration with Development Initiative of West Africa (DIWA), Minna, Niger State in Inter-Religious Dialogue and Engagement. He is one of the facilitators of Kukah Centre, Abuja.
Terwase Akuya is interested in peace work and has been involved in peace work in Gombe State University where he is currently serving and in the North East of Nigeria in general. He has conducted peace workshops and seminars in Gombe metropolis dealing with Christian and Muslim peaceful co-existence. He has worked among the students of diverse faiths and is currently working to introduce the Interreligious Dialogue Forum in the department for cordial relationship between Christians and Muslims. He is also a gender activist, advocating for equality between men and women, particularly rights of the girl child in education.
Venerable Terwase Akuya holds a M.A in Ethics and Philosophy, a Postgraduate diploma in Conflict Management and Peace Studies, a Bachelor of Divinity in Theology and a National Certificate in Education (NCE). Ven. Akuya is happily married to Mrs. Joy Terwase. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, researching Religion and Society.
