We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Reverend Dr Richard J. Sudworth OBE earlier this week.

He joined KAICIID in 2020 as a member of the Board of Directors, a role he fulfilled with the utmost dedication until 2023. During that time, and beyond his formal mandate, he made a lasting impression on many across KAICIID. Those who engaged with him more closely will remember his calm presence and the depth of wisdom he brought to the Centre.

A lifelong advocate for interfaith dialogue, he dedicated his ministry, scholarship and leadership to fostering meaningful connection between people of different faiths. He was a long-standing supporter of initiatives that promote understanding, trust and coexistence. His ability to gather diverse perspectives around the table, while remaining grounded, was both rare and inspiring, as well as something that made his journey with KAICIID so inspiring.

The Reverend's guidance, insight and principled leadership were deeply valued both internally and with our many partners globally. He led with integrity, humility and compassion, and his contribution to the interfaith field will leave a profound and enduring legacy.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are especially with those among us who knew and worked with him closely. He will be remembered with great respect, gratitude and affection.
