After seven years, KAICIID convened a joint session of its Council of Parties and Board of Directors, bringing together representatives from member states and religious leaders in a significant demonstration of unified support for the Centre's strategic direction.

The session – the first joint gathering of both governing bodies since 2019 – provided an opportunity to review progress across KAICIID's programmatic work, including initiatives in Intra-Muslim dialogue, the Centre's expanding engagement in Latin America, and deepening partnerships within the Arab Region.

Following a review of the Centre's programmatic work and achievements, Board members attested to the tangible impact of KAICIID's initiatives on the ground, underscoring that the Centre's work is creating meaningful change in communities through dialogue.

The meeting secured alignment on key institutional priorities, including continued efforts toward UN General Assembly observer status, strengthening partnerships with multilateral institutions, and broadening the Centre's membership base. Ambassador António de Almeida Ribeiro, KAICIID's Acting Secretary General, noted that the session represents a moment of shared purpose at a time when dialogue remains the strongest instrument for building trust and fostering inclusive societies.

Members of both bodies emphasised the critical importance of this collaboration between religious and political leadership – leading by example in advancing KAICIID's commitment to dialogue in both policy and practice. The Council of Parties – comprising Republic of Austria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Spain and the Holy See– and the Board of Directors, representing Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, concluded by reaffirming their collective commitment to positioning KAICIID as an integral part of the global dialogue architecture.
