Advocating for Interreligious Dialogue in India with Sarva Dharma Samvaad

30 August 2016

In cooperation with Sarva Dharma Samvaad (SDS), the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) co-organized a workshop on advocacy for interreligious dialogue in New Delhi, India on 19 and 20 June. The workshop “Influencing Stakeholders: Advocacy Weorkshop for Interfaith Practitioners” equipped dialogue practitioners from all over India with an understanding of advocacy theory and practice and provided them with hands-on training and tools for advocacy supported through shared case studies from the field.

Participants included 20 youth leaders representing several Indian religious organizations working in interreligious dialogue. Many of them are experienced practitioners promoting dialogue in their communities.

The sessions illustrated how interreligious organizations’ advocacy through dialogue can positively influence social change. Participants also received detailed training in advocacy for IRD through group simulations and practical strategy development.
