Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO)

Found in 1979, the Islamic World Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) is one of the largest Islamic organizations worldwide. Its objectives include strengthening cooperation among its 54 member states in the fields of education, science, culture and communication, and to encourage diversity, dialogue and understanding among diverse peoples as a contribution towards world peace and security.

In 2013, KAICIID and ICESCO signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the achievement of global peace through the power of education and religious and cultural diversity.

Since then, KAICIID and ICESCO have coordinated on a number of initiatives, including training and capacity building for youth and women, supporting the inclusion of key values such as peace, tolerance, justice and moderation in educational curricula, and trainings for religious leaders and policymakers.
