Ustaz Isa Friday Okonkwo
Ustaz Isa Friday Okonkwo is the director of administration of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA). NSCIA is the umbrella organization and the superintendent of the affairs of Islam and Muslims in Nigeria, under the leadership of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and its President General Alh. (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubaka.
Isa is also the director of DIT Global Consult Ltd, that specializes in family enlightenment and education consultancy.
Ustaz Isa, who is presently a postgraduate student of peace, conflict and strategic studies at the Nile University of Nigeria has his first degree in biochemistry from the University of Ibadan. He has undergone various trainings and qualifications including business and financial literacy and a consultancy qualification programme. He is a certified Chartered Project Manager (CPM).
He has worked in various establishments and institutions in Nigeria including the Sunrise International School, Abuja; New Horizons College, Minna; Little Scholars School Malali, Kaduna; and the DIT Islamic Homeschool, Kaduna. He also worked with Da’awah Institute of Nigeria, the Islamic Education Trust, Minna, as a research fellow and facilitator of the ‘Train the Trainers Course’, a research and training programme on interreligious dialogue. He recently participated in ‘International Visitor Leadership Program’ (IVLP) organized by the US Department of States the US on interreligious dialogue and peaceful co-existence.
Isa Okonkwo believes that the real meaning of living is “the ability to touch other lives positively.” Based on this motto, Isa wants to see a world where mutual competition among humanity is only premised on virtues. One of his highest achievements is the ability to touch the lives of youth at the DIT Islamic Homeschool.
