Location: Remote

The International Dialogue Centre - KAICIID is updating its roster of designers to support the Division's digital visual communications output - including social media assets, web graphics, online publications, reports and digital event materials - and is seeking professionals to provide consultancy services in digital graphic design. This call is directed to all applicants fluent in Arabic.

An Introduction to KAICIID

The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) is a unique International Organization which brings together religious leaders, policymakers, and experts with the aim of finding common solutions to shared problems. Our vision is a world where there is respect, understanding, and cooperation among people, justice, peace and reconciliation, and an end to the abuse of religion to justify oppression, violence, and conflict.

We are a diverse team of dedicated professionals who deliver impactful results across the globe.

Role:

We are looking for an experienced freelance digital graphic designer with strong attention to detail, typographic and layout skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex information visually.

Designers will be expected to apply creative judgement while adhering to the Centre’s brand and editorial guidelines, in order to produce engaging, professionally executed work, such as layout and design of print and digital publications, creation of infographics and branded templates and development of visual materials for events and campaigns.

Designers should be comfortable working remotely to tight deadlines. They should be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and able to deliver final artwork in appropriate formats along with open-source design files where applicable. Selected Consultants will be requested to undertake tasks of varying complexity and turnaround times, on an ad hoc basis.

Retainer contracts are typically valid until the end of the calendar year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and programme needs. The Centre does not guarantee any minimum level of business to the Consultant. Therefore, no specific information on the expected volume of work can be provided.

Use of AI Tools:

Consultants may use AI-based tools (e.g. for layout assistance or image enhancement) only in support of their work, provided such tools do not compromise the confidentiality, originality, quality or ownership of the final design. All deliverables must be reviewed, verified and finalised by the Consultant to ensure they meet KAICIID's design standards and brand guidelines.

The use of AI to generate designs and images without human revision is strictly prohibited. Consultants must not input confidential or unpublished material into AI platforms without express permission.

Your Responsibilities:

In line with the Centre’s visual identity and guidelines:

  • Design digital publications, including reports, brochures, factsheets and books.

  • Develop visual content for web, multi-and social media platforms, such as graphics, banners, icons and promotional assets.

  • Develop user-friendly and accessible communications products such as infographics and other visual representations of data for use in publications and social media.

  • Consult on event branding and design event-related materials.

  • Deliver all work in required formats for print and digital use, together with editable source files.

  • Perform other design and layout tasks as required by the Communications Division on an ad hoc basis.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in graphic design, ideally with international, non-profit or intergovernmental organizations.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a mature design style across a range of products (print and digital formats), including publications, social media and events.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop) and web design tools.

  • A strong understanding of colour management and accessibility considerations, and ability to produce accurate, high-quality designs in alignment with established brand guidelines.

Languages:

  • English proficiency (written and oral) essential;
  • A working knowledge of Arabic and familiarity with multilingual layout design (especially right-to-left script) is essential;
  • Knowledge of other languages (French, German, Portuguese, Spanish or Arabic) is an asset.

Terms of engagement:

The Consultant shall provide the Services on a non-exclusive, “as and when required” basis, as requested or instructed by the Communications Division.

The Consultant will be provided with relevant texts, images and other materials or information that the Centre considers necessary for performing the Services. The Centre and the Consultant may exchange additional information and documentation that may be required by the Consultant in order to understand the scope and nature of the Centre’s requirements.

Upon conclusion of such exchange, the Consultant shall provide a binding quotation for the requested Services. If requested, the Consultant shall assist the Centre in arranging printing of the designed materials to ensure the final product aligns with the approved design.

The Consultant shall commence the Services upon written confirmation by the Centre, specifying the scope and nature of the Services, the prices calculated in accordance with the contractually agreed unit rates, and the agreed delivery terms, including deadlines and format.

The Consultant shall provide the Services remotely (i.e., from their location). The Consultant is expected to maintain a consistent design style in line with the Centre’s organizational style and requirements.
