الأسبوع العالمي للاحتفاء بالوئام بين الأديان

KAICIID is participating in World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW), which takes place during the first week of February (1–7 February) to promote interfaith harmony. The week was adopted by the United Nations to lay the foundation for citizenship and encourage reconciliation and dialogue based on the principles of coexistence, fraternity, and mutual understanding.

"The World Interfaith Harmony Week aligns with KAICIID's vision of building a world filled with respect, understanding, cooperation, justice, peace, and reconciliation," says Secretary-General Zuhair Al-Harthi. "We strive to put an end to the exploitation of religion to condone oppression, violence, and conflict."

Al-Harthi added "At KAICIID, we are proud of our decade-long commitment to dialogue and creating a world of justice, peace, and harmony, we look forward to continuing our efforts and collaborating with partners and those of good will to achieve our goal of promoting interfaith cooperation and peace. The World Interfaith Harmony Week is an ideal opportunity for us to work together towards a world of fraternity, justice, and peace."

To mark WIHW, KAICIID is organizing a webinar that will bring together a panel of grassroots activists from around the world. The webinar will showcase different types of interfaith and intercultural activities, highlighting the contributions that grassroots initiatives can make to creating more inclusive, resilient, and cohesive societies. The speakers will share their experiences, discuss their approaches, and talk about the challenges they have faced.

The United Nations General Assembly encourages all states to spread the message of interfaith harmony during the week and marks the first week of February as World Interfaith Harmony Week. Conceived to promote a culture of peace and nonviolence, the week was first proposed by Jordan's King Abdullah II and then adopted by the UN General Assembly (resolution A/RES/65/5) on October 20, 2010.

In conclusion, the World Interfaith Harmony Week provides a platform for people from all walks of life to come together, foster tolerance and acceptance across religions and cultures, and work towards mutual understanding, harmony, and cooperation.
