Dr. Simran Jeet Singh is Assistant Professor of Religion in the Department of Religion at Trinity University. He also serves as Senior Religion Fellow for the Sikh Coalition and a Truman National Security Fellow for the Truman National Security Project.

Simran has long been engaged with justice work and building bridges across various communities, and he is particularly passionate about addressing discrimination and xenophobia. He writes and speaks frequently on such issues, and he has received various honours for his teaching, writing and activism. Most recently, Auburn Theological Seminary honoured him with the Walter Wink Scholar-Activist Award.

Simran derives inspiration for his justice work from a number of different sources. One quotation in particular comes from Guru Amardas, the third Sikh Guru: “By the Guru’s Grace, my heart has been drenched in love – this is the source of my service.”
