This short, self-paced course was developed by KAICIID and UPEACE. It looks at the disturbing rise of xenophobia, racism and intolerance from the perspective of the United Nations. In this sense, violence committed ‘in the name of religion’ can lead to massive violations of human rights, including freedom of religion or belief. Mutual understanding and interreligious dialogue constitute important dimensions of the dialogue among civilizations and of the culture of peace in order to tackle the disturbing rise of hate speech.
The course provides methodology and policy recommendations on how to identify and counter hate speech through the promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace with potential partners at all levels.
All course components are available now and can be completed at a time that is convenient for you (within a one-month period). Please note that this course is not facilitated by a course team leader.
